Dear Friends,

We are so pleased that you are interested in getting a puppy from Christian Doodles! We truly enjoy what we do, and are proud of each of the dogs that we raise.
To produce a healthy, happy puppy, one must first start with healthy parents. With that in mind, we have imported healthy studs (including some from Champion lines) from the US  with good history behind them. We invest countless hours year-round in caring for our breeding mothers, fathers and puppies, and make sure that they are kept healthy by treating them with the newest and best medications.
We are very careful and take every precaution necessary to not have the parvo virus brought in. We are pleased to say in 8 years of raising beautiful healthy puppies we have NEVER had any incidents to date of  the parvo virus. Mothers are well vaccinated prior to breeding to give puppies optimal immunity to the Parvo Virus and Sanitizing  baby pens is kept up for their protection .
We do our best to keep the dog runs and play areas picked up of  all feces after feeding twice  a day.

We want to be sure that we can provide you with the healthiest, best nourished, and most socialized puppy that we can. We want to know that our investment in your puppy's health and the hours we spend socializing him or her will have a lifelong return.
Very sincerely,
Christian Doodles

Our Dog Building is insulated with foam insulation for optimal warmth and covered with tin which  makes it easy to keep every pen santized, We keep our building toasty warm heated by a coal stove. Our dogs have their own dog doors to go outside and play in large fenced yards any time they wish. They are never locked up in the building.
Puppies are whelped in our living room or bedroom. They are raised in our living room for 4 weeks. The babies are moved out of the house at 4 weeks of age into a heated building where we train all our puppies to go through a small doggie door to the outside fenced yard to use the washroom. This helps teach pups right from the start not to go to the washroom inside a building or house.
It is by their free choice they run outside to void no matter what the weather conditions are snow or shine. They are exposed to large dogs running and barking beside their fenced yard, tractors, horses, thunder, snow blowers, cars ect.
We bring them into the house a couple at a time for visits and to teach them to leave the pack.
Their first practice bath is the day they go to the vet. This makes bath time more familiar the day they go home. We do our best to raise a happy healthy puppy.

What is an innocent or physiologic heart murmur?
"An innocent or physiologic heart murmur is a heart murmur that has no impact on the dog's health."
An innocent or physiologic heart murmur is a heart murmur that has no impact on the dog's health.

It is very common for young puppies, especially large breed puppies, to develop an innocent heart murmur while they are growing rapidly. The murmur may first appear at 6-8 weeks of age, and a puppy with an innocent heart murmur will usually outgrow it by about 4-5 months of age. This type of murmur is benign.

In general, a physiologic or innocent heart murmur will have a low intensity (usually Grade I-II out of VI), and does not cause any symptoms or clinical signs.
Please note..we do adopt our puppies out with grade one murmers and there  is no price reduction.
If the puppy we have chosen for you or you have chosen has a grade 1 murmer when going for their 6 week Vet check, then you have the option to adopt him/her or wait for the next litter if you chose.Usually by 8 weeks of age it is gone.

Canine FortiFlora is a supplement used to encourage gastrointestinal health in dogs by creating a strong immune system through the use of live probiotic cultures. It also includes antioxidant vitamins and can be used for the dietary management of dogs with digestive system disorders. FortiFlora is easy to use because of it's palatability.
All our pups are started daily on fortiflora at 4 weeks of age.
We recommend giving a small amount daily for life.

Please note-our dogs do not always look as pretty as in pictures. We do live on a farm and they have alot of fun running through puddles and running through the pasture.
We always take their Picture after a grooming. Some of our wheatens and cocker spaniels we shave quite short  for their own comfort for summer and before birth of a litter. Having 6-8 warm puppies snuggled to mom can make for a over heated mother. The mothers comfort is our main concern.
Our Dog Kennel.
All our outdoor dogs have a buddy and their own yard fenced and can come and go into their beds into the heated building whenever they like.
During play time they have turns running and playing all over the farm.

Vaccinations And Deworming

As the owner of a new puppy, there are many things you need to be aware of in order to keep your pet happy and healthy. Routine medical care is among the most important. A proper deworming protocol, and up to date vaccinations are things you should do in order to give your pup the best chance of living a long and happy life.
As a puppy, dogs will need 3 separate vaccinations in order to give them maximum protection. The first needle is normally given around 6 weeks of age, and the next 2 are the very same and generally given 3-4 weeks after one another. Each time a puppy receives a vaccine, he will get protection from several different diseases. Most ‘puppy shots’ are referred to as DAPP. They protect against the most common serious diseases – Distemper, AdenoVirus, ParaInfluenza and ParvoVirus. Your vet may also offer additional vaccines for diseases which are more prevalent in your area as well, such as CoronaVirus or LeptoSporosis. About 1 week after your pup has had all 3 sets of ‘Puppy Shots’ he will be fully protected from those specific diseases. After that, a once a year vaccine is required for the next few years. Most vets now, will then vaccinate every 3 years as opposed to yearly. If your vet insists on continuing vaccinating yearly, ask them why, as it is accepted as ‘over vaccinating’ by most professionals. If you do not already have a vet with whom you feel comfortable, I encourage you to ‘shop’ around. You will be amazed by the difference in price charged by different vets, and also by the services offered.
Vaccinating is different from Deworming and will do nothing to prevent parasites. Vaccinating protects against diseases, deworming kills internal parasites that your dog/puppy has. And yes, no matter how sanitary your conditions, or where you live, your dog will have internal parasites, it is NOT a matter of cleanliness.
The most common external parasites in our area include fleas, and ear mites, and the most common internal include roundworms, tapeworms, Coccidia and Giardia. There is a very good chance that your pup will come in contact with at least some of these parasites sometime in his or her life, as it is very easy for a pup to pick up any of these pests. Fortunately, there are numerous treatments available to prevent and/or eliminate them.
It is important to note that Parasites have highly evolved life cycles that make their total elimination impossible. Dogs and cats (especially puppies and kittens) are routinely infected with internal parasites, sometimes without apparent evidence of the infestation. This means that a pet can have internal parasites even though the fecal sample taken by the vet is negative. Any dog which goes outdoors will occasionally come in contact with parasites. Mother dogs can also pass on these parasites to their babies through nursing.
It is not enough to treat a puppy once for most parasites, as the parasites can be dormant at certain stages of their lifecycle and will survive multiple attempts at eliminating them. They multiply very rapidly, and can re infect your pet if even a few survive. Your pet can also pick up the parasite again very easily, even if you do manage to eliminate it the first time.
Most dogs get some type of worms. Some worms are more harmful than others, but generally, it is when they are allowed to grow out of control that most worms present a problem. It is recommended by the CDC that puppies be dewormed every 2 weeks until they are 3 months old, then every month after that, in order to control worms in your puppy. We use a very strict schedule to control worms. Our puppies are given dewormer once a week from the time they are 2 weeks old and until they go  to their new homes. We use 3 different types of dewormer to provide the broadest protection possible. Even by doing so, there may still be a chance that your puppy has worms. It is important to know that internal parasites have very sophisticated life cycles that can make treatment difficult. Some parasites can only be controlled, not eliminated. Please talk to your vet about prevention and control of these parasites when you bring your puppy in for a check up. There are new treatments for internal parasites that are very broad spectrum. They are capable of killing a wide variety of parasites.
In spite of their prevalence, Tapeworms are not a significant cause of disease in dogs and cats. Most pets do not have any symptoms, and if symptoms are present, are mild in nature. Some pets will itch at their anus when the worms cause irritation as they pass. Most Tapeworms are diagnosed by visualizing the worm in your pet’s feces, crawling around its anus, or in its bedding. Tapeworms segments crawling on your dog's anus might cause scooting, although full anal sacs are a much more common cause of scooting. They come in long attachments that usually break off into individual pieces when they exit from your pet. They usually look like pieces of white rice and turn yellow after they have been out of the body for a while. Several medications are available that are highly effective at ridding you pet of Tapeworms including Lopatol, but they do nothing to prevent your pet from re-infecting itself.

The life cycle of this parasite almost always ensures that a puppy or a kitten will be exposed at some point in its life. They can get it from their mother while they are in the uterus, during nursing, and through contamination with infected soil. Larval forms of this parasite migrate through internal organs, get coughed up and swallowed, and become mature parasites in the small intestines. Intermediate hosts like rodents can become infected by eating eggs, and can then infect a dog or cat when they are eaten. Some larvae migrate to the tissues of internal organs and remain dormant (where they can not be killed by medications) until pregnancy where they become active and infect the developing puppies in the uterus. Common symptoms are a distended abdomen and diarrhea. Some puppies and kittens will be vomiting, lethargic and not eating well, while others will not show any symptoms. In some cases the Roundworm will be present in your pet's feces or vomit. It looks like a curled up piece of spaghetti. There are several effective treatments for Roundworms (including Strongid T and Panacur). Retreatment is necessary with this parasite because the medication does not kill the larvae, and most pets require several treatments for a full cure. Reinfestation is very likely if the roundworms are present in the local area. Roundworm eggs can remain viable for a long time in the environment. Puppies will get this parasite by eating dirt contaminated with the eggs.
Coccidia are not technically a worm, but a protozoan parasite that infect dogs and cats primarily, but can be seen in other species. Coccidia life cycles are complex and involve many stages of development. Coccidia produce cysts instead of larvae and eggs. Dogs and cats usually get the infection from ingesting the cysts commonly found in the environment or eating animals like mice that are already infected. Most pets have, at sometime in their life, come into contact with this parasite, but many pets do not show any symptoms when infected. Symptoms usually occur in young animals and include diarrhea with blood droplets, or mucous. This is especially true in pets that are stressed. If your puppy has come into contact with this parasite, there is a very good chance that symptoms will NOT be present until he/she moves to its new home. This parasite is also referred to as ”Puppy Stress Syndrome” for that very fact. The stress from the change in environment will cause symptoms of Coccidia to appear. Because it is very common, doctors will often treat a pet for Coccidia even though the fecal exam is negative for this parasite. Sulfa type medications (S125 pills) or sulfa and antibiotic combinations are used to affect a cure.
We treat all the puppies Coccidiosis preventative 3 times before they leave our home.

Giardia are also protozoal parasites that live in the small intestines and in many ways, is very similar to Coccidia. Giarida are found every where in the world, with younger animals having a higher rate of infection. Guard is one of the  most common found in puppiesThis parasite can be found on fecal exams of healthy pets that don't have any symptoms. The cysts remain viable in the environment for months, especially in cool and moist areas. They thrive in clear and cool water, a good reason not to drink running water in the outdoors, no matter how pristine it looks. We have all heard that when vacationing in certain areas of the world, we should not drink the water, and this is one of the reasons why. The cysts are killed by freezing, boiling, and extended contact with disinfectants. In many pets there aren't any symptoms, while in others that do show symptoms, the problem might resolve by itself. The most susceptible pets are puppies and kittens. Diarrhea that occurs can be severe and can be accompanied by poor appetite and dehydration. Vomiting, weight loss and blood in the stool are occasional symptoms. Just like Coccidia, doctors might treat for this disease even on negative fecal samples. Flagyl (Panacur) is the drug routinely used to treat Giardia, although it does not cure all Giardia infections. There is no drug that is 100% effective against Giardia. Once an environment like a lawn is contaminated it can be almost impossible to eliminate this parasite. A vaccine available for dogs is very helpful in persistent infections.

All puppies are collared and microchipped at the vet visit  with their own personal identification.
Desiccated Liver - The ultimate in palatability! The fresh, natural flavor of real liver is wonderful for the finicky eater! Supplies iron and B vitamins.

Norwegian Kelp - A natural seaweed - a rich source of trace minerals including iodine, necessary for proper glandular function and metabolism. An excellent source of vitamins A, B1, B2, C, and E. Aside from nourishing the glands, these vitamins are beneficial for maintaining overall good health and are vital to sustain the proper growth of bones, a healthy heart rate, a sound central nervous system, and the assurance that muscles stay firm and strong. Norwegian kelp grows deep in the ocean, mostly in cold waters, so it contains the purest of valuable nutrients from the ocean floor. Supports healthy skin pigmentation and coat highlights.

Amino Acids & Enzymes - A wide array of naturally available Amino Acids and Enzymes helps the body to maintain healthy hormonal balances and to fortify a resilient Immune System. Offers support for pets with seasonal allergies.

Nutritional Yeast Cultures - Support the maintenance of healthy skin and a full, luxurious hair coat which may minimize the occurrence of excessive shedding and dry skin. Provide proteins, zinc and biotin. Best source of B vitamins. Most companies use cheaper brewers yeast which can be a combination of hops, corn, grains, wheat, etc.; all by-products from the brewery. Many animals have grain sensitivities, and brewers yeast may further aggravate an allergy condition in certain animals. With nutritional yeast cultures, grown and harvested from a veggie source, NO grains are present at all. Something to think about when reading ingredient labels.

Flaxseed - Provides essential omega fatty acids. Most absorbable vegetable fatty acid for the canine. Rich in omega 3 fatty acids, alpha-Linolenic acid, fiber and lignans. Helps maintain healthy, shiny fur and soft skin.

Due to the theft of now 3 puppies we no longer invite families out to the farm. It is well explained on our home page. However we do welcome everyone to come meet their puppy at their 6 week vet check. Families are able to visit their puppy for an hour before we leave to go into our vet appointment. At that time families go home.
 1) All our puppies are vaccines with Duramune Ultra by our vet.

   2) A picture is taken of the puppy and this is inserted on your vet health certificate which will come home with your puppy at 8 weeks of age.

   3) A microchip is implanted into your puppy's shoulder area.

    4) A full vet exam is performed by a licensed veterinarian checking for loose patellas, Listening to the  heart. Checking your puppy's bite, ears, etc.

    5)  Any puppy we feel is different than the rest of his/hers litter, will be tested and complete blood panels. This gives us the confidence we are sending a healthy puppy home with no health issues.

All puppies are taught to go through the doggie door from a young age of 4  weeks. We believe it is important for the babies to see larger adult dogs daily as the exposure helps them as  they face the big world after and makes these changes easier.
We believe pups should learn from the beginning to use the washroom outside of the house not inside. They are accustomed quickly to running through their dog door even in cold temperature Rain sunshine or snow.
All parents are CLEARED with DNA testing for

Please  fill out our online application on our available puppies page and then text to let me know you have and what breed of pup you are wanting. Call or text to ask any questions. Text is usually the best way to contact us as we are usually outside on the farm with the animals or playing with puppies. if we don't get back to you please send another text as we sometimes  get so busy and carried away with animals and family we can sometimes forget to return a call or text.
We believe tails  are very important for dogs. If a dog has a tail it means that it has a function. A very important function is communication. We all know well how dogs wag their tails when they are showing happiness. Dogs use their tails to communicate with other dogs. Dogs without tails may encounter problems in communicating fear, play or aggression when around other dogs. This could cause serious miscommunications and eventually fights. Undocked dogs may approach dogs without tails with caution as they cannot interpret their mood effectively. Docked dogs on the other hand, may not communicate aggression properly and may upgrade to a bite if the other dogs does not back off when needed.
Years ago a family came and adopted a cockapoo puppy. The called back later devastated as their puppy had been killed by another dog thinking she was threatening them as she was docked.

Another drawback in dock tailed dogs is the fact that they lack the important balancing function of the tail. Tails also play an important role during swimming.

Luckily, more and more veterinarians are refusing this practice and so are some countries that have started to ban it. Norway, Sweden and Switzerland are some of these countries, hopefully many others will shortly follow. So far the most common practitioners of tail docking seem to derive from the breeders.

We WILL NOT dock tails any longer. We are totally against it. We feel it it mutilation and totally not necessary.

We believe dogs were made with tails and dogs should have tails in our opinion.
We trust you will understand our view on this.

"Do We Dock Tails?"
You may notice in pictures of some of our adults that they they are docked. This is because we import from breeders. This is out of our control as pups are selected at 8 weeks of age . Docking is usually done within the first few days of life.
How do we meet OUR puppy or select a puppy?

We are asked every day how to select a pup because we no longer have families out to our farm due to puppy theft and The dangers of our world today. There is a write up on our homepage about it.

Many of our babies are sold on deposit as soon as they are born.
We now have families pick the puppy by color and sex.

We watch their temperament as they grow. If we feel this puppy is not what you are wanting we notify you.

When you meet your puppy if you are not happy with that puppy you may choose another from up coming litter or have a refund.

We are very careful to select Dogs who have had full genetic health panels and good temperaments. If we raise our breeding mother from a puppy and she shows aggression issues or hyperactivity we spay her and home as a pet and never breed her. The same goes for our males.
All mothers are imported tested and raised by us from babies.

Everyone if welcome to come for a one hour visit to the Vet clinic on their 6 week vet check. Many of our puppies are flown out to other provinces and counties therefore many families never see their puppy till it arrives.
Everyone has been happy with their puppies so far.
If when you meet your puppy at hi/her vet check or on pickup and are not satisfied then your full deposit will be returned to you. It has never happened  yet.

Families meeting their puppies for the first time at the vet clinic in Wetaskiwin
Although our kennel has a furnace and is heated just like a home we also keep all our puppies under 250 watts of infra red heat lamps in our home from time of birth and through the move to the kennel. This keeps their body temperature up till their  own bodies learn to regulate it. They remain under heat and can move away as they wish. Heat lamps are shut off at about 5  to 6 weeks of age.
Please note....

There are some cockapoo  and schnoodles breeders in Alberta who have been copying off our website and posting it. This information is a copy of our  program and how we raise our dogs.
Always do your homework. We know for a fact some of these dogs being bred by them are purchased off Kijiji as adults and bred. Some with subluxing patellas. They are not registered dogs nor do they have genetic health testing.
We are just letting families know so they can do their homework well before purchasing a puppy.
We DO NOT register our puppies. We only want LOVING PET HOMES. Registering puppies attracts the breeders. Some families have not been honest with us in the past and after  purchasing a registered puppy from us disappeared and we found out later  were breeding them.
Therefor under the guidance of our vet we are no longer registering any puppies.

An X ray is taken by our vet at the end of pregnancy on 1 st time mothers to confirm that the puppies will fit through easily.
The Function Of The Dewclaws

Front dewclaws are typically removed by some at 3-5 days of age, because they are believed to be a non-functional digit that poses an unnecessary risk for being injured.
In standing, the front dewclaw may not appear to be functional because it doesn't come in contact with the ground. However, observing the dewclaw when the dog is in motion tells a different story.

Five tendons attach to the dewclaw and play an important role when the dog is in motion. For example:

-When a dog’s lead leg is on the ground during the gallop or canter, the dewclaw is on the ground to stabilize the carpus

-When a dog turns, the dewclaw digs into the ground to support the structures of the limb and prevent torque

If a dog does not have dewclaws, there is a higher potential for the carpal ligaments to stretch and tear which could result in laxity and arthritis over time (OUCH!). This can then result in more stress being generated through the dog's carpus, elbow, shoulder, and spine as it tries to compensate for the lack of digit.

On the other hand, the rear dewclaws do not have associated tendons and are considered non-functional (though they may be required for some breed standards to be present).

In speaking with many vets, you would be surprised at how few dewclaw injuries they see.

So- given the front dewclaws' functional use, why are we so quick to remove them?

In dogs, the most common injuries seen by many rehab providers and vets occur in the shoulder complex, yet we don’t see shoulders being removed. Food for thought!

Norwegian Kelp: A natural seaweed that is a rich source of trace minerals including iodine, which is used for proper glandular function and metabolism. An excellent source of vitamins A, B1, B2, C, and E. These vitamins are beneficial for maintaining proper health and are responsible for the growth of bones, a healthy heart rate, a sound central nervous system, and helping muscles stay firm and strong. Aside from nourishing the glands, it is beneficial for overall good health. Supports healthy pigmentation and coat highlights.
Micropulverized Bee Pollen: One of nature’s healthiest and most powerful ‘superfoods.’ Bee pollen contains an incredible array of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and enzymes. It’s one of the most nutritionally complete natural substances found on earth. Supports a healthy immune system. Keeps healthy hormones in balance. Supports allergy protection.
Nutritional Yeast Culture: Helps maintain a full and healthy coat which may minimize the occurrence of excessive shedding, hot spots and itchy, dry skin. Provides proteins, zinc and biotin. Best source of B vitamins. Most companies use cheaper brewers yeast which can be a combination of hops, corn, grains, wheat, etc., whatever comes from the brewery. Our nutritional yeast is from a vegetable source, NOT from corn or grains like in brewers yeast which may further aggravate an allergy or grain sensitive animal.
Flaxseed: Provides essential fatty acids. Most absorbable vegetable fatty acid for the canine. Rich in omega 3 fatty acids, alpha-linolenic acid, fiber and lignans. Helps maintain healthy shiny fur and soft skin.
Lecithin: A rich source of choline, which the body requires to make acetyle choline, a neurotransmitter which is essential for normal, healthy, nerve and brain function.
Garlic: Wonderful ingredient that does so much for the body. Garlic contains allicin, a broad-spectrum antimicrobial capable of warding off different types of infection. Supports a healthy immune system.
Calcium Citrate: Calcium is best absorbed in an acidic environment, hence calcium citrate is the best absorbed supplemental form of calcium-it does not require extra stomach acid for absorption. Intended to provide nutritive support for healthy bones, teeth and nerve function.
Lactobacillus Acidophilus: Promotes healthy digestion which may reduce the occurrence of flatulence. Because Nupro is a powdered form and not from concentrate, it is easily assimilated into the body and digested with the dogs food. There is no sense in giving an animal this superior product if they don't digest it properly. Good for overweight dogs because you can feed them less and still get needed essential nutrients. Also promotes friendly bacteria in the intestinal tract.

Nupro is added to our raw meat diet for Pregnant and nursing mothers

We DO NOT register our puppies. This only attracts breeders. We strictly want PET ONLY LOVING homes.
